Technical hitch

I don't know if it's just me or has blogger been playing up lately? Iv'e noticed the last couple of days that I seem to have lost my background and everything has reverted to some kind of default setting. I've just spent the last 3 hours trying to restore everything but trouble was I couldn't really remember what half of the settings were so things may look slightly different and Iv'e had to go back to using the old blogger interface.....AAAAAARRRRGGGHHH! I also noticed my welcome note was missing the 'c' so it actually said welome! did anyone else notice? maybe you did but you are all just far to polite to mention such poor grammar?!!! anyways I love to hear what you have to say so any comments are always appreciated. Thanks again to all the lovely people who drop by.

Happy Holidays - Part One

Hello lovelies, well I'm back from my summer jaunt and what a fabulous time we had, the lovely Babs transported us 900+ miles around the Suffolk and Norfolk coastline which is remarkable really given her track record.

We had wall to wall sunshine for two whole weeks in fact it was so good we decided to stay two extra nights.
Southwold didn't disappoint, it was such a pretty place and everything I thought it would be, with it's beautiful houses and pretty shops not to mention a few rather snooty residents!
The day after we visited we heard on the local radio that things did take a slightly nasty turn at a local meeting when permission was granted to open a Costa... oh how I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall of that meeting!
Walberswick and Aldeburgh were equally as pretty but our favourite place had to be Dunwich beach, the boys had the best time ever swimming in the sea.

I managed to keep myself busy while they splashed about

even squeezing in 40 winks here and there on the lovely warm pebbles.

After six blissful nights in Suffolk we headed back up to Norfolk visiting some of our favourite places

No trip to Norfolk is complete without a ride on the Holt/Sheringham steam train

but not before a quick ride on this beauty very nearly missing the train- oops!

Wiveton Hall is always worth a visit and if you have never been then you don't know what you are missing. You could easily spend a full day there, picking your own fruit and veggies, then rewarding yourself with one of their chocolate brownies and a lovely brew as we did even though we didn't have time to pick any fruit or veggies!

Holkham beach was also on our 'to do' list after having spent many a happy hour there on previous trips.
We did some serious sandcastle building

looks like something from middle earth

ate crab from here

and did a bit of Tarzan swinging

yes that is me showing my builders bum.... very undignified I know but it made me chortle.

This is me on the very same swing last year looking slightly more ladylike

I'm hoping you are still with me and I haven't bored you to tears and if you are still reading then I thank you.
I'll be back soon with yet more snaps, including some of treasure I picked up along the way.

Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday weekend hopefully without too much rain...wishful thinking

checking in

Hello lovelies I'm home from my Jollies and back in the land of blog.

I'll be back with more photos and tales of my travels as soon as I have tackled the small mountain of laundry.

Have a great weekend, Iv'e not seen a weather forecast but I'm guessing as it's a bank holiday rain is almost certainly on the cards!!!

Suffolk here we come

I can't believe we are very nearly into the fourth week of the school holidays, surely that can't be possible, how did that happen???

As usual it's all go here, trying to get all the little jobs done and generally getting in the holiday mood.
There is still tons to do but I really wanted to squeeze in a quick post before I head off into the sunshine (wishful thinking!!!)

Bruce has been to the pooch parlour

and the essentials have been packed

I was going to have a bash at this

but decided on another granny square blanket for the camper instead, I fear blankets are fast becoming another one of my obsessions.
Anyway back to the bag thing

I'd had my eye on it since I'd hopped on the tour bus and saw it there waiting for me and with 20% off it would have been rude not to bring it home... actually it was the lovely Mr. H who suggested I bring it home and who was I to argue.

What I'd actually called into CK for in the first place was this

This was a surprise find when I popped into Hillsborough last weekend to get Velcro.

All that ring loveliness for One English Pound

Our lovely next-door-but-one neighbours brought this round on Friday as a little thank you for keeping an eye on their house while they tootled off up North.

I love the packaging nearly as much as I love the gingerbread.
Every last crumb had been devoured by Saturday evening..... apart from the ones I found in the bed on Sunday morning, obviously not on my side of the bed you understand!
Who needs Mr. Grey at bedtime when you have Yorkshire tea and Grasmere gingerbread!!!

I'm totally loving the Olympics which is surprising really as I'm not what you could call a sporty person, I hated sport at school with the exception of hockey which we didn't actually play that often as we were far too dangerous, infact If my memory serves me well I recall it was brought to a rather abrubt end when one of the girls got her nose in the way of my friend and her hockey stick, I don't think I have ever seen so much blood, mind you as I remember it was quite a big hooter!!!
Being a Sheffield girl I'm looking forward to seeing this when I return from my holibobs.

Well done Jess your City loves you

fingers crossed for sunshine
I'll send you a postcard!

adios amigos : )
